Job Description

Butler America is seeking an experienced OSP Engineer with a strong background supporting telecommunications infrastructure projects within Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fielding, engineering, permitting, and supporting multiple outside plant projects while ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery. This position requires strong technical knowledge of fiber optic and copper network design, permitting processes, aerial and underground construction methods, and carrier standards. Key Responsibilities Design and develop outside plant (OSP) network infrastructure including fiber optic and copper facilities. Perform field surveys, site walks, and feasibility assessments to determine optimal network routing and constructability. Prepare and review engineering plans, work prints, permit packages, and CAD drawings. Support and manage projects related to: Metro Ethernet Fiber to the Tower (FTTT) Road Moves BAU Engineering Coordinate with project managers, municipalities, utility companies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. Support permitting activities at state, county, and local levels. Apply knowledge of aerial and buried placement methods in accordance with customer and industry standards. Perform pole inventory analysis, pole loading review, and support joint use coordination. Identify fiber strands and copper pairs in both field environments and existing records. Ensure projects comply with safety regulations, engineering standards, and customer requirements. Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost-effective engineering solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred. 3+ years of OSP engineering experience in telecommunications environments. Previous experience supporting Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed projects strongly preferred. Proficiency with Auto
CAD, GIS
platforms, and OSP engineering software. Strong understanding of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination processes. Experience with aerial and underground fiber deployments. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compensation Structure This position operates within a production-based/unit-driven engineering environment. Compensation and performance expectations are aligned with engineering production output, quality, and project delivery timelines. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with measurable production goals and deadlines.

$75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
