With our commitment to client satisfaction and our global team of experienced professionals, Trinity's Life Sciences Division offers an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on patients' lives and public health across the glob Position Summary We are seeking an experienced OT/Automation Engineer to support a leading biotechnology/pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Clayton, NC. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on the design, implementation, integration, and optimization of Siemens-based automation and control systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Siemens WinCC Unified SCADA, Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens S7 PLCs, and OT/IT integration technologies. This position requires an individual who has led complete system design and implementation projects, not solely troubleshooting, commissioning, or FAT activities. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, and maintain Siemens-based automation and control systems. Lead complete lifecycle automation projects, including requirements gathering, system architecture, programming, testing, commissioning, and startup support. Configure and develop Siemens WinCC Unified SCADA applications and Siemens TIA Portal environments. Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLC systems. Support ThinManager Thin Client Management infrastructure and deployment. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, validation, quality, and IT teams to ensure reliable and compliant operations. Develop and maintain OT network architectures supporting manufacturing and process control systems. Integrate OT systems with enterprise applications and data management platforms. Support data collection, historian integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives. Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing standards, data integrity requirements, and cybersecurity best practices. Participate in system upgrades, modernization projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Create and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, SOPs, and change control documentation. Required Qualifications Automation & Control Systems Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with: Siemens WinCC Unified SCADA Siemens TIA Portal Siemens S7 PLCs Experience must include complete system design, architecture, development, and implementation-not solely troubleshooting, maintenance, commissioning, or FAT activities.
Experience with:
SCADA system development and deployment PLC programming and configuration HMI design and implementation Process automation and control strategies OT / IT Integration Skills Strong understanding of industrial network architecture and communication protocols. Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles and secure industrial system design.
Experience with:
Data collection and management systems Industrial databases and historians Data analytics and reporting platforms System integration between OT and enterprise environments Software development experience for interfacing with automation systems and manufacturing data platforms. Technical Expertise Industrial Automation Control Systems Engineering Process Control SCADA Systems Manufacturing Systems Integration Network Architecture and Security OT Infrastructure ThinManager Administration Preferred Qualifications Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Knowledge of GxP, GMP, and computerized system compliance requirements. Experience supporting validated automation systems. Familiarity with ISA-95, ISA-88, and modern manufacturing architectures.
