This position reports to:
Engineering Director __ Your role and responsibilities Work within the Electrification Solutions Group to manage the Engineering and support services for the integration of electrical equipment into E-Houses. This role requires meeting the established engineering objectives within approved costs and timescale limits. Candidate must have the technical experience to perform the successful engineering of large multimillion dollar projects involving low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control, drives, motors, and various electrical equipment in E-Houses while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Houston, TX, Lake Mary, FL or Mebane, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: Acts as a technical lead and approves design deliverables. Works with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve issues of mutual concern and to seek opportunities for additional business. Ensure timely contract completion, customer satisfaction, and desired financial return. Plan, monitor, coordinate and execute complex engineering tasks including the technical and quality targets established by ABB, sub supplying vendors and the customer. Develop and manage an engineering project plan, design reviews and design approvals between ABB, sub supplying vendors, subcontractors, and the customer. Develop status reports and modify plans or schedules, as necessary, to ensure contract parameters are met. Monitor the performance of subcontractors to ensure they satisfactorily fulfill their commercial and technical supply commitments. Identify and pursue the resolution of problem areas likely to hinder the progress of work or payment of work completed to optimize the successful completion of and payment for project workQualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and skills. Functional team with more than 5 years relevant engineering experience in electrical power systems and project engineering. Strong knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, protections, controls, automation, and integration within Power Distribution Centers; familiarity with transformers, drives, motors, bus duct, cables, and associated equipment. Ability to design and calculate electrical systems for integrated Power Distribution Centers, including cable sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, breaker sizing, and overall HV-LV distribution. Proficiency in creating, modifying, and reviewing electrical drawings (single-line, three-line, schematics, interconnections, wire lists) and validating vendor/customer designs, protection schemes, and metering. Working knowledge ofIEEE/ANSI, NEMA, NETA, API, PIP, NEC/NESC
standards and codes; capable of influencing senior stakeholders and customers, with basic understanding of battery storage, chargers, and UPS systems. This role requires some overnight travel will vary up to 30%. Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.
