Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer opportunity that offers the chance to lead complex electric utility distribution work from concept through construction. Our team is presenting a role where technical depth, project leadership, and client-facing communication all come together to support impactful overhead and underground distribution designs.
Responsibilities:
Lead design project teams through the full design and construction process for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground utility distribution projects. Develop distribution voltage packages for overhead and underground work, including equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design. Review distribution calculations such as cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading, while applying strong knowledge of NESC standards, utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures. Support project planning and delivery by contributing to schedules, scope, budget, resource forecasting, construction planning, change orders, quality control reviews, field inspections, and client communication.
Required:
7+ years of electrical distribution engineering experience. Experience leading overhead and underground distribution design projects (2.4kV-34.5kV). Ability to lead project execution, review engineering calculations, and perform QA/QC. Strong knowledge of NESC, utility standards, power flow, and distribution equipment. Experience with distribution design software, GIS, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of easements, right-of-way (ROW), permitting, and construction methods. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills. ABET-accredited Engineering degree required (PE License preferred).
