What Your Job Will Be Like We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in high voltage (>600V) systems to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will perform work on the Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution Systems at the Sandia National Laboratories New Mexico site. On any given day you may be called on to: Develop detailed scope for electrical projects. Troubleshoot electrical systems, including the use of Dranetz to determine power quality and for power diagnostics. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans. Develop designs for maintenance and minor construction activities. Perform electrical design reviews. Provide input into the asset management program for the high voltage (HV) systems to enable the appropriate life cycle management of HV system components. Coordinate power outages, manage preventative maintenance program schedules, and coordinate performance testing activities between engineers, maintenance, and service providers. Manage procedures that ensure safe work practices and define proper procedures for using and maintaining related maintenance equipment. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. Salary Range $102,400 - $199,700 Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. Qualifications We Require Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience. Experience working on medium and/or high voltage transmission systems. Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance. Qualifications We Desire Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Experience with the following: Familiar with NNSA, DOE, or other federal government requirements. Demonstrated experience with coordination of power outages. Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills necessary to identify and resolve electrical risk issues with the mission in mind and assist in making recommendations to fellow system/operations engineers and management.
