  • as a Principal Engineer - Power Systems supporting our Resource Integration Advisory group with a primary focus on performing interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Perform Interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects + Optimize the size and location of new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects + Prepare interconnection applications for new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects including development of power flow, dynamic and short circuit study models + Guide generation, storage, demand and transmission interconnection applications through the full interconnection study process + Interface with the host transmission operator throughout the interconnection study process and review and scrutinize their interconnection study reports + Perform general power system studies.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • + Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering + 12+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in the power industry + Experience with EMT Modeling using PSCAD for protection, control interaction, or IBR-focused studies + Intimate knowledge of the PSSE and/or PSLF power systems analysis tools and their associated models and utilities + Knowledge of transmission systems in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT and/or WECC + Extensive experience with power system studies + Experience with resource interconnection studies in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT and/or WECC \#LI-JS1 •Benefits & Compensation•Qualus offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees, which may include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability coverage, Retirement Savings Plans (including employer matching where applicable), Flexible Spending and/or Health Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Parental Leave, Paid Time Off, and Company Holidays.
