Job Description
What to Expect The Gigafactory Nevada Industrial and Systems Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer to contribute to the design and development of SCADA systems. The primary responsibility of this role is design, development, and maintenance of the SCADA platform and its support data systems used to manage production and operations factory-wide. A successful candidate will have both theoretical and hands-on experience in a factory production environment, process optimization, UI design, and data engineering. What You'll Do Design and enhance SCADA systems to monitor and optimize manufacturing operations Collaborate with project managers and controls/manufacturing teams to define system requirements and specifications, leveraging data insights to inform decisions Integrate SCADA with other manufacturing systems (e.g., DCS, MES, FX, historians) Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SCADA, data, SQL queries, and Python scripts to minimize production downtime Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials Provide technical support, training, and guidance to operations and maintenance teams Serve as the primary point of contact for users, addressing day-to-day support and advocating system adoption while monitoring overall system health Proactively identify improvement opportunities across manufacturing systems, developing tools that allow for visibility into bottlenecks and inconsistencies What You'll Bring Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in Data, Controls, or Software Engineering or related field Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or maintaining
