This role combines technical expertise with sales leadership to deliver customized low-voltage technology solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in building client relationships, identifying opportunities, designing tailored solutions, and providing technical guidance throughout the sales process and beyond. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESClient Relationship Management Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels of customer organizations. Identify client needs through consultative selling approaches. Provide tailored product recommendations, demonstrations, and proposals. Collaborate with leadership to develop acquisition plans for new customers. Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with prospects and customers throughout Central and Upstate New York. Develop long-term partnerships that drive customer satisfaction and recurring business. Technical Solutions Development Analyze client requirements and design customized low-voltage technology solutions utilizing Syracuse Time & Alarm's portfolio of products and services. Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure while adhering to applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Create technical specifications, solution documentation, scopes of work, and detailed proposals. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams when customized solutions are required. Support solution design for technologies including: Video Surveillance Access Control Intrusion Detection Fire Alarm Systems Emergency Communications Audio/Visual Systems Networking Infrastructure Structured Cabling Video Intercom Systems Unified Communications Technologies Technical Support & Training Provide pre-sales technical guidance to help clients understand product capabilities and system benefits. Deliver post-sales support to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction. Assist with troubleshooting and coordinate with technical teams to resolve issues. Train end users on system operation, maintenance, and upgrades. Create and deliver technical presentations to decision-makers, facility managers, and executive stakeholders. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless project delivery. Act as a liaison between customers and technical teams to communicate needs and expectations. Contribute technical expertise for marketing materials, case studies, and customer success stories. Participate in product and service improvement initiatives. Represent Syracuse Time & Alarm at trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences. Business Development Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings. Identify new business opportunities and vertical markets. Develop strategic account plans to grow existing customer relationships. Evaluate current sales strategies and adapt quickly to changing market conditions. Support company growth initiatives and revenue objectives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in technology sales, low-voltage systems, building technologies, telecommunications, networking, or related industries preferred. Previous success in solution-based or consultative selling of technical products or services. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Familiarity with video surveillance, access control, fire alarm systems, structured cabling, networking, audio/visual systems, or related technologies is highly desirable. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
