Role Summary Help improve the quality, safety, and constructability of transmission line projects by serving as the connection between engineering and construction. This role leverages extensive field experience to review engineering deliverables, identify potential construction challenges, and provide practical feedback to design teams before projects reach the field. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure transmission line designs are accurate, buildable, safe, and aligned with industry best practices. This position is ideal for someone who has spent years building or managing transmission line construction and wants to apply that knowledge to improve project outcomes in an office environment. Qualifications Associate's degree, technical degree, apprenticeship certification, journeyman lineman certification, or equivalent industry experience. 10+ years of experience in overhead electric transmission line construction, inspection, field engineering, maintenance, or construction management. Expert knowledge of transmission line construction methods, equipment, and field practices. Experience with transmission line design software and engineering workflows preferred. Advanced understanding of transmission structures, foundations, conductor installation, and line construction activities. Authoritative ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations. Strategic and detail-oriented, with advanced problem-solving skills. Trusted and respected, with deep expertise in fostering collaboration across disciplines and driving innovation within project teams. Forward-thinking communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and drive cross-functional collaboration. Valid Driver's License is required. Responsibilities Review transmission line engineering packages for constructability, safety, and practicality prior to construction. Identify potential construction challenges related to access, equipment usage, structure installation, conductor installation, material handling, and sequencing. Participate in design reviews and offer constructability feedback based on industry experience and proven field practices during project development. Help identify opportunities to reduce construction risk, improve safety, and increase installation efficiency. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to resolve design concerns before construction begins. Mentor engineers and designers on practical construction considerations and industry field practices. Interface with project managers to align quality goals with schedule and budget.
