This is a remote opportunity BUT candidates must be local to the greater Seattle area. Distribution Engineer The Distribution Engineer plays a key role within the Distribution Department, focusing on the engineering, design, and review of overhead and underground electric distribution lines ranging from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV. This role develops detailed cable and conduit work packages for new customer construction projects, ensures designs comply with established quality and consistency standards, and supports clients throughout the construction lifecycle. The position offers a remote work environment while requiring periodic travel to client sites to support field activities and project execution. + Design and review overhead and underground electric distribution lines from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV in accordance with engineering and construction specifications. + Develop comprehensive overhead and underground cable and conduit work packages for new customer construction and asset replacement projects. + Engineer and design complex overhead and underground distribution projects in both urban and rural environments, including field engineering of project requirements and identification of conflicting utilities. + Perform engineering and design calculations and program protective line equipment to ensure safe and reliable power distribution. + Coordinate small design teams as needed to develop budgets, prepare scoping documents, establish design criteria, and produce project deliverables. + Provide engineering assistance to clients during construction, including participation in construction meetings, coordination sessions, and community outreach activities as needed. + Identify when project objectives are not being met and initiate appropriate corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within scope. + Interpret applicable codes and regulations and contribute to the development of standards for construction projects. + Promote engineering professionalism and adherence to technical standards across project teams. + Develop, recommend, and implement engineering plans by establishing goals, objectives, schedules, resource requirements, and information needs for complex projects. Essential Skills + Hands-on experience working on utility distribution services or electrical engineering within commercial construction. + Experience working within power distribution systems, including overhead and underground distribution, underground utilities, and electric system design. + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $55.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
