Hybrid Job Summary Southwire is seeking a strategic and results-driven Lead Solutions Engineer to champion the development and delivery of high-impact engineering solutions across diverse markets. This role is central to advancing our commercial growth by aligning customer needs with innovative, scalable technologies. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical acumen, commercial insight, and customer-centric thinking. They will thrive in fast-paced environments, are adept at navigating complex engineering landscapes, and excel at influencing stakeholders through technical expertise and strategic vision. As a Lead Solutions Engineer, they will translate complex challenges into actionable solutions, guiding cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders. Ultimately, their expertise will drive product innovation, enhance customer engagement, and accelerate business outcomes across domestic and international markets. Key Responsibilities Provide deep technical knowledge about the company's products and services, demonstrating their capabilities and benefits to potential customers. Drive the specification process for Southwire's current and emerging markets. Identify customer technical pain points during the life cycle and translate them into new engineering requirements. Identify and drive specification differentiation between Southwire and its competitors. Lead/guide complex technical conversations around Southwire's new products and services. Interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, which include system accessories, to provide the best-in-class solutions. Develop and launch novel service solutions that meet customer needs, while considering factors like cost, value-ad, feasibility, and scalability. Promote Southwire's brand through videos, whitepapers, webinars, customer presentations and serving as a thought leader in industry. Lead codes and standards development activities and drive specification through the adoption of new requirements.
Required Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree Specialized Degree:
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering 8-11 Years of Experience Field(s) of
Expertise:
Engineering:
application support and/or product engineering experience in the wire and cable, power, utility, manufacturing, or electrical industry. Product engineering: Design, development, launch and commercialization.
Preferred Education & Experience Master's Degree Specialized Degree:
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering 12-14 Years of Experience Field(s) of
Expertise:
Extensive field experience in residential, commercial, telecom, or utility product installation.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE), CAD, Revit (BIM), Project Management; Proficient in
Codes & Standards:
NEC, ASTM, UL, CSA, IEEE, ICEA, NEMA.
