Job Description

Overview We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, and validation of installed material handling and conveyor systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in conveyor installation and system checkout who enjoys travel and working on-site at large-scale projects. This position is focused on system performance verification—not mechanical installation—ensuring all equipment is fully operational and meets project and client requirements.
Duration:
5-month contract (with potential for extension or redeployment to additional projects) Key Responsibilities Lead testing and commissioning efforts for installed material handling and conveyor systems Perform end-to-end system checkout, including validation of electrical and control components Troubleshoot and resolve issues across conveyors and associated equipment Collect, analyze, and report system performance data to internal teams Collaborate with engineering, controls, and project teams to ensure successful system startup Ensure all systems meet operational, safety, and quality standards Travel Requirements Travel-based role with a Monday-Friday fly-in/fly-out schedule Opportunity to continue on future projects upon completion of the initial contract, based on performance and willingness to travel Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field 2+ years of experience with electrical installation and commissioning of material handling/conveyor systems Proven experience testing and troubleshooting conveyor equipment, including full system checkout Strong understanding of electrical systems within automated environments Preferred Qualifications Experience with controls systems (PLC troubleshooting, integration, or commissioning) Familiarity with large-scale distribution, fulfillment, or automation projects Additional Notes This role does not involve mechanical installation or "wrench-turning" responsibilities Ideal for candidates who prefer system-level problem solving, testing, and commissioning work
