Job Summary
An engineering consulting organization is hiring a T-Line Engineer to support the design and analysis of high-voltage transmission line projects. This role involves applying transmission line engineering expertise across conductors, structures, foundations, and electrical systems for projects ranging from 69kV to 765kV. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to contribute to material procurement, modeling, and detailed engineering design efforts.
Responsibilities
Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range
Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures
Complete foundation design for transmission structures
Conduct conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies
Develop cost estimates and project schedules
Prepare specifications for procurement of transmission line materials and construction
Specify transmission line components
Model transmission lines using PLS-CADD, determine right-of-way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop plan and profile drawings
Review vendor submittals
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program Two or more years of related experience in transmission line engineering Related engineering internship or co-op experience Proficiency with PLS-CADD andPLS-POLE
Knowledge of practical engineering principles related to transmission line engineering Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used in producing technical plans, drawings, and models Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipPreferred:
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training Proficiency with PLS-TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, or Microstation Experience writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations Familiarity with design codes and standards includingNESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE
