Engineer, Navy Shipboard Habitability and Hotel Systems Location:
Ft. Monroe, (Hampton),
VA Job Status:
Full-time Position Description:
Interest and potential to develop into Subject Matter Expert and leadership for US Navy Shipboard Habitability Improvement Program for our Arrangements (outfitting), Ventilation, Piping and Electrical system departments, and the interfaces with any other impacted structure and systems.
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Shipcheck, design, develop drawings in AutoCAD, check and review drawings.
  • Research technical correspondence, specifications and manuals. Draft technical correspondence, specifications and procedures.
  • Technical liaison with ships and Navy activities.
  • Technical liaison with manufacturers.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot shipboard installation issues, and develop design improvements.
Clear and precise writing and communication of problems and solutions Qualifications / Knowledge /
Experience:
Engineering degree & at least 10 years' experience. Minimum 2 years habitability experience Supervise and manager multi-disciplinary design. Accomplish specification writing and Procurement QA Engineering, and
ISO 9001.
Licenses/Certifications:
Describe any.
Ships and Shipyards:
Ability and interest to work on ships and in shipyards for approximately 10% of the time.
Other:
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

Travel :
Must be willing to travel approximately 5% to 10% of the time. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and passport.
