Job Description We are seeking a Calibration Contingent Worker (AR/VR)
  • Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hardware/software integration, calibration, and automation for AR/VR systems and a proven ability to design and execute experiments, troubleshoot system-level issues, and deliver reliable calibration workflows into production .
Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain data collection software and hardware, including OS and firmware updates and sensor connectivity. Perform basic software debugging in C++ and conduct error analysis while collaborating with Research Engineers and Scientists. Bring up consumer hardware devices and verify core functionalities. Design and execute experiments to validate product quality and investigate hardware and software issues. Design and commission automation procedures for robotics experiments supporting calibration and testing. Perform device calibration using proprietary equipment and processes. Commission and operate complex measurement and test equipment. Document processes, techniques, and results with guidance from the core team. Define calibration procedures for cameras and displays and characterize calibration equipment. Partner with sensor, silicon, and product teams to establish interfaces and quality gates for calibration. Troubleshoot system-wide calibration issues across mechanical, electrical, optical, firmware, OS, and software domains. Develop software to enable calibration and testing workflows and process related data. Collaborate with manufacturing to deploy calibration functionality in factory environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
BSc, MSc, or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Software development experience following engineering best practices in C++ or Python. Hardware engineering experience or education in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Systems, or Optical domains. System-level troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, optical, firmware, OS, and software failures.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in applied research or product development with joint hardware and software integration. Background in designing and operating robotic systems and automation. Knowledge of optics, including imaging, illumination, radiometry, photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarization. Experience with statistical methods for data analytics. Experience in manufacturing engineering or factory deployment of calibration processes. Conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. Why BCforward?
