Job Description

Description Support product design, development, and continuous improvement efforts from initial concept through manufacturing release and field support. Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and manufacturability standards while driving quality improvements, cost reductions, and product enhancements. Required:
1-3 years of experience in product design, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
Preferred:
3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally involving detention equipment, security hardware, doors/frames, or similar metal fabrication products. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to create and revise engineering drawings and models.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes: fabrication, machining, welding, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Understanding of materials, tolerances, and design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Basic understanding of root-cause analysis techniques (5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa).
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficient with standard office/engineering software: spreadsheets, word processing, PLM/document control systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Prolonged sitting when performing design and drafting work. Must have full use of the head and torso; ability to reach, grasp, bend, and flex arms, legs, wrists, and hands. Excellent near and distance vision (corrected acceptable); adequate hearing. Fine hand-eye coordination required for use of precision measuring instruments and computer keyboards. Mental Requirements Complete ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Solid math, geometry, and mechanical-aptitude skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
