Job Description:
Supplier Development Engineer positions offered by HL Mando America Corporation (Opelika, AL). Perform parts and supplier development for new components of new vehicle programs based on the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. Evaluate and select potential suppliers by conducting Process and System Audits (PSA) and Initial Risk Assessments (IRA). Assist with supplier readiness by participating in Gate Reviews and ensuring compliance with each phase of the product launch schedule. Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, including PPAP Run Audit, PPAP Approval, and Run @ Rate Audit, to confirm suppliers mass production capability. Support Engineering Process Change (EPC) management and track any supplier process or design modifications to maintain consistent product quality. Conduct Supplier Process Audits (SPA) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Assessments to ensure supplier compliance with internal and external standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review supplier 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) plans and ensure adherence to quality and development timing targets. Provide technical guidance and continuous improvement support to suppliers through quality reviews, corrective action plans, and capacity verifications.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 1 year of experience working in supplier development or supplier quality in the automotive manufacturing environment. Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: Performing Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) Run Audits, PPAP Approvals,Run @ Rate Audits,Engineering Process Change (EPC) management,Supplier Process Audits (SPA), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Assessments for suppliers. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
