full-time Job Summary Supermicro is seeking a System Engineer to join our SWAT team and lead the development and integration of multi-node system products for datacenter infrastructure. This is a critical product-focused role that combines on-campus product development with rapid response to production and field issues. When on campus, you will support product development cycle, collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, and ensure roadmap execution. When production or field issues arise, you will serve as the second escalation point, providing hands-on technical support to resolve critical problems quickly and effectively. You will leverage strong technical and communication skills to define product strategy for Supermicro's core server product family and research vertical-based customer solutions. As a core member of the Server Product Management team, you will participate in technical development and pre-/post-sales support activities. This role will be based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serve as a key member of the SWAT team: drive product development and integration of multi-node systems while on campus, and act as the second escalation point for production and field issues, delivering timely technical resolution Support develops product roadmaps and the end-to-end development and integration of multi-node system products Partner closely with Engineering and Business Development to deliver complete server solutions to customers Leverage a strong technical background to define technical product requirements for cloud and data center infrastructure solutions, incorporating customer needs, industry trends, and business objectives Engage with customers at multiple levels (including senior executives, engineering, and product marketing) to communicate Supermicro's capabilities and vision while gathering requirements and addressing challenges Escalate critical issues to senior management and vendors as needed to drive resolution Deliver product training to internal teams, sales teams, and customers Provide third-level customer support (internal and external) as required Qualifications BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, 1+ year of hands-on experience preferred Demonstrated experience in product management, including ownership of products from concept through development, launch, and end-of-life Working knowledge of computer architectures with proficiency in hardware installation Strong presentation and communication skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Willingness to travel to customer (up to 40%) to serve as a second escalation resource for field issues as part of the SWAT team
