Job Description
The Role:
Lead new product development efforts, including ideation, feasibility studies, and prototype development. Develop workholding strategies and solutions to adapt universal capital equipment for process and metrology requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally to define and refine new product performance requirements and specifications. Perform materials characterization, analysis, and selection; partner with modeling engineers to develop technical roadmaps and execution plans. Work closely with process engineers to define product-specific process and equipment requirements, supporting a smooth handoff to Operations, including training and implementation. Contribute to the development of test methods and validation plans to evaluate powertrain product performance. Design and execute experiments with vendors, OEMs, and system integrators to optimize product, process, and equipment performance. Support the equipment commissioning including FAT and SAT activities Lead technical discussions with suppliers to explore novel design and manufacturing solutions. Train and support technicians in equipment and process operations for prototyping, feasibility testing, and product/process/equipment validation.Qualifications:
Product design and process development engineering experience. 2D drawing and 3D CAD proficiency required. Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes, including laser welding, marking, cutting, wire bonding, and smart welding. Familiarity with DOE and validation methods, including DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ, window testing, Cpk, and process capability studies. Ability to travel periodically to Lucid AMP locations for onboarding, training, testing, and validation.Preferred:
5+ years of product design or manufacturing engineering experience. Experience refining products through metrology and testing. Experience with SPC monitoring for production processes and equipment. Experience developing workholding solutions for manufacturing and lab testing.Education:

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Base Pay Range (Annual) $144,000 - $198,000USD Compensation & Benefits:
Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program.
