Project Engineer - Civil Land Development Reports to:

PGI is currently seeking a highly motivated and result-driven Project Engineer with a focus in Land Development. In this position you will have the responsibility to complete project designs, client reports, documents, plans and permits.
Responsibilities:
Prepare project schedules and include necessary tasks to lay out critical line items for projects Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements Determine construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints Coordinate with project subconsultants to obtain necessary information for project designs Manage communication with clients and build trusting relationships through consistent delivery of quality product and service Develop cost-effective design layouts based on construction specifications and requirements Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing civil designs Manage design projects within allotted timelines and budgets Perform design changes and improvements according to changing project demands Stay abreast with latest developments with civil design fields Manages and assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specification, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi-family developments and public works projects, the preparation of calculations, such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects Research and determine established design guidelines and procedures Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software technologies to develop effective designs Continuously meets all deadlines and informs the project manager in advance if a deadline cannot be met Must have confidence to attend project meetings independently with direction and guidance of project manager Attend client/municipal meetings with project manager including public hearings and technical meetings
Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university Registered Professional Engineer, Preferred 5+ years of land development experience preferred Have strong desire and ability to guide, mentor and train junior staff Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software Completes assembly of plans and reports in logical order Must have firm understanding of land development, engineering design for all aspects of site development Strong technical writing and communication skills Embraces working and collaborating as a team Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of project flow and project tasks Possess excellent organizational and strong prioritization skills. Must be able to prioritize project tasks for multiple active projects and provide deliverables in advance of the required deadlines
