FCA Group The Chief Engineer (CE) is the fully accountable single point technical contact for transmission and driveline products. This includes all aspects of product delivery for current production, new product development, or advanced projects. (the "what" and the "when".) The CE directs a team of family (project) managers (FMs), Application Engineers (AEs), Design System Engineers (DSEs), and Assistant Chief Engineers (ACEs).The CE closely collaborates with PRC managers, other CE teams, the DEVVAL team, and additional stakeholders to ensure department goals and objectives are met. The candidate will ensure the team follows all applicable department and corporate standards, practices, and procedures, manage team training plans and progress and ensure employee development and care through regular 1/1s with all employees and contractors. The candidate oversees and ensures completion of: DFMEAs to assess designs for failure modes robustness DVP&R plans to validate new designs and design changes, and complete DRBTR assessments All required technical source package documentation to support supplier quotes Appropriate Design Detailing and CAE activities for new designs or design changes either with Stellantis teams (in house design) or with suppliers Internal and supplier product engineering activities and deliverables, including test plans and test execution for components and subsystems/assemblies Product engineering work plans in accordance with program and project timing and milestones. Prepare presentations and score cards for senior management reviews. Root cause analysis of gear reducer and transmission issues in product development, warranty/quality, or manufacturing The Candidate will also: Support manufacturing on production-related issues Generate and implement cost reduction ideas Provide guidance and direction to DREs and suppliers through resourcing, process or sourcing changes, and development using the appropriate change management systems The CE is fully accountable for all transmission and driveline-related deliverables and results, regardless of which team is responsible for certain actions. The CE must sign off on all launch readiness certifications and approve all

The CE Responsibilities include:
Recognized as single point contact for all Engineering activities for the given scope of work Technical Interface to Vehicle & PT Integration, AME, Purchasing, EE Core, ePT, Controls, Calibration, Quality, Suppliers and EE Systems Reviews & approves all Trade of Studies (TOS). Empowered to make executive decisions on engineering direction for projects and programs. Responsible for meeting or exceeding program deliverables and functional objectives (i.e. cost, timing, efficiency, performance, mass, NVH, and
CQI, 3MIS, EPUS, JD
Power quality metrics) Leads coordination with Vehicle/Powertrain Team on initial Packaging studies (Application Engineer as delegate) Develops and maintains the Transmission Technical Roadmap. SWOT analysis and benchmarking activity to ensure industry competitiveness for mass, efficiency, NVH, shift quality, etc. Promotes Intellectual property development (patents, NDAs, EBPs, etc.) as a result of product innovation Provide oversight of entire transmission system (i.e. controls, SW, calibration, HW incl. TCM and PIM, diagnostics) Supports Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering in the Source Package planning. Ensures cost, quality and engineering assessments are used to drive best supplier selections Overall Owner of "Improvement List" to address JD Power, CQI & 3MIS issues. Empowered to work directly with CoE Managers, Technical Specialist & DREs on programs and project assignments Responsible for incorporating all vehicle/program requirements per bulletin or PC request into Design and Development Plans Develops & coordinates acceptable engineering milestone dates to support critical mule and pilot builds (i.e. qty, MRD, design content, calibration needs, etc) Build best team, develop leaders and complete succession planning Support and ensure technical infrastructure includes Transmission Technical Specifications (TTS), Engineering Best Practice (E-BP), Lessons Learned (LL), DFMEA templates, Trade off Studies (TOS), standard DVP&R templates and other standard work tools.
