Product Development Engineer (Syteline)

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Product Development Maintain key customer and supplier relationships. Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to launch new products. Ability to brainstorm and communicate ideas through discussion, sketches, CAD, and prototypes. Must be a skilled problem solver and be able to apply engineering expertise to problem solving. Advocate design, process, and supply chain options to reduce time to market, decrease part cost, increase profitability, improve ease of assembly, and guarantee quality. Create and maintain project schedules and issue lists. Create bills of materials and quotes. Ability to communicate effectively and provide weekly updates to customers and internal project teams. Create and maintain SolidWorks CAD models and drawings as needed. Must be capable of managing multiple priorities and projects independently with limited direction. Assist with packaging solutions. Assist with the creation of standard work documents for new products and processes. Assist with the training of production team members on new processes or process improvements. Failure Analysis and determine appropriate solutions. Lifecycle Product Support Create and manage Engineering Change Orders. Coordinate changes and product improvements with customers, suppliers, and Worden team. Quote special requests from customers. Identify, propose, and implement product improvements.

Consistently work in a safe manner. Show willingness to learn and continuously improve skills. Participate in the continuous improvement program. Maintain professional behavior and attitude. Assist with ISO auditing. Champion a positive culture throughout the organization. Other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements 4 year engineering degree. 3+ years of modeling and/or MRP/ERP experience required. An ideal candidate will also possess one or more of the following 1. Knowledgeable and experienced in woodworking principals and furniture assembly. 2. Autocad/Inventor or Solidworks experience. 3. Understanding of cost estimating and pricing functions. Working knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing principles. Strong technical writing skills related to product specifications, instructions, and testing procedures. Good written and verbal presentation skills, including the ability to work with customer and translate their requirements into product solutions.
