Back Core / Methodology Engineer#2014694 Auburn Hills, Michigan, United StatesApply X Facebook LinkedIn Email Copy Job Description Powertrain Calibration Methodology Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and validating propulsion system calibration processes which achieve world-class range, fuel economy, and drivability meeting current and future emission standards. The engineer will develop new calibration processes for both virtual and physical testing resources using techniques such as MIL, HIL and Physical properties. This role will include cross functional interaction with different Center of Excellence (CoE) teams and support engineers. Process development will occur with new powertrain technologies such as ICE, xHEV and BEV configurations for both future and carry over applications. The engineer will develop disruptive technology processes that optimize the efficiency, quality, and product delivery for the calibration functions.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

Support construction of virtual models to simulate system performanceProvide expertise to correlate vehicle, dyno, and virtual datasetsWork with the CoE teams to ensure best practices are developed and followedProvide guidance for calibrators to assure system performance objectivesWork closely with Virtual and HIL teams to ensure and define feature functionalityNeed to understand the Hybrid and electrified powertrain controls algorithm developed in

platformWork with the data acquisition and analysis tools such as dSPACE Automation, Controldesk, ETAS-INCA, MDA Location(s) 1000 Chrysler Drive, Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326, United States Requirements Requirements / QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of total work experience related to engine system development including related technologies and subsystems such as combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, and aftertreatment systemsStrong knowledge of internal combustion enginesStrong expertise and knowledge of engine control strategies and complex optimization strategiesData acquisition experience collecting and processing dataWorking knowledge of engine analysis and calibration tools, emissions development, engine technologies and competitive productsOutstanding problem solving and analytical skillsGood teamwork skills and ability to work independentlyEffective communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with engine dynamometer measurement systems, data acquisition, and data analyticsInquisitive, attentive to details, process oriented, and ability to work independentlyProficient in advanced simulation toolsProficient in Matlab / SimulinkPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in engineeringWork experience in spark ignition engine controls and calibration preferredWork experience in automotive testing (engine only dynamometer, propulsion system dynamometer, vehicle)Work experience with Design of Experiments, Engine Modeling, Artificial Neural Networks, Reactive Problem Solving, or statistics Employment Type Full-time Stellantis At Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
