  • $130,000 a year 14 hours ago Qualifications Developing medical devices Product design project leadership Customer communication Project development phase management New product introduction engineering projects 3D modeling software Managing projects Mechanical product development projects Full Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to lead design and development activities (concept generation, requirements generation, prototyping, 3D modeling, 2D prints creation, concept evaluation) on complete medical device development program.
Candidates must have experience leading complex catheter development projects from concept to production. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to transition into engineering management. This is a direct hire role located in Fridley, MN and has the ability to be hybrid.

Position Duties:
Create technical execution plan and deliverables with the project manager Lead and execute design and development project-related activities within the internal team Lead customer interaction on technical deliverables comfortably and confidently Lead activities for concept generation with strong technical problem-solving skills Mentor engineers on the team to conduct engineering analysis on designs, concepts, and the associated research Lead and monitor documentation practices for requirements, design output, design verification, and testing using client's and/or customer's QMS Communicate complex information concisely and clearly to all levels of collaborators, including customers, team members, and others Mentor less experienced engineers throughout project execution Facilitate and make technical decisions on projects (i.e. vendor selection, critical to quality on the design, concept selection, etc.)
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required, master's degree in Engineering or related technical field helpful Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience required, optimally in medical device development Well established knowledge of multiple engineering functional areas (i.e. product development, test, modeling, process, etc.) Anatomical knowledge of the vasculature and clinical knowledge of coronary/ peripheral/ neurological procedures is helpful Independently applies knowledge of the methodology for process/design selection Able to communicate complex technical concepts to broad audiences Consistently demonstrates creativity in applying engineering principles to solve complex problems Able to make data driven decisions utilizing statistical tools such as DOE, tolerance stack-up analysis, or Minitab Strong independent problem-solving skills and actively works to coach others in this area Proficient with new technology development Capable of creating a plan to solve complex technical problems and lead others to resolution Actively, informally or formally coaches and mentors less experienced engineers Able to communicate complex topics to customers Has established cross-functional relationships and is able to influence to drive results Clearly communicates need for continuous improvement and champions change within the organization If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
