Look for candidates who have:
HIL/HITL
experience — this is the biggest keyword. Experience with OPAL-RT, dSPACE, Typhoon HIL, Speedgoat , etc. Strong MATLAB/Simulink experience. Experience building plant models / real-time simulation models . Experience with HIL testing, test automation, fault injection and regression testing . Some understanding of inverters, converters and power electronics . Experience testing embedded software .
In one sentence:
"I need someone who can build and operate a virtual version of the real system to test the actual controller/software." Resume red flags: We are seeking a highly motivated HITL (Human-in-the-Loop) Development Engineer to join our innovative team dedicated to advancing intelligent systems through rigorous testing and system integration. In this role, you will develop, implement, and optimize human-in-the-loop processes to enhance machine learning models and autonomous system performance. Your expertise will drive the design and refinement of complex mechanical and systems engineering solutions, ensuring seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects that shape the future of automation and intelligent technology. Duties Design and develop human-in-the-loop testing frameworks for autonomous systems, incorporating mechanical, electrical, and software components. Conduct root cause analysis to identify system failures or performance bottlenecks during testing phases. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical design, 3D modeling, and product development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, civil engineering, and systems engineering to integrate system components effectively. Implement scripting and programming solutions using Python, C++, MATLAB, and other tools to automate data collection, analysis, and system simulations. Perform system troubleshooting and debugging to optimize hardware and software interfaces within complex mechanical systems. Lead project scheduling efforts to ensure timely delivery of testing milestones while managing multiple concurrent initiatives. Analyze building code compliance, fire protection systems, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools for construction-related projects when applicable.
