Job Description

Job Title:
Sr RF Design Engineer Job Description The Sr RF Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of high-performance RF systems and components, as well as supporting existing designs with obsolescence and updates. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in RF design, simulation, testing, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in RF engineering and be capable of working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Most designs are 6GHz and under, with potential for development above this range. Responsibilities Design and develop RF components and systems, including antennas, amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and filters. Conduct RF simulation and modeling to predict performance and optimize design. Support troubleshooting efforts for existing designs from manufacturing and address obsolescence issues. Develop detailed specifications and documentation for RF systems and components. Understand and design to meet EMC/EMI and environmental requirements. Create and implement test plans for RF systems and components, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. Perform RF testing and troubleshooting using advanced measurement equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators. Analyze test data and refine designs as needed to meet performance criteria. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers, to integrate RF systems into overall product designs. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and manufacturing technicians. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product transition from design to production. Stay updated with the latest advancements in RF technology and incorporate relevant innovations into design practices. Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations. Essential Skills 7 years of working experience in RF design and engineering, preferably in radio test or avionics. Proven track record in successfully leading RF projects from concept to production. Expertise in RF Subsystem and Front-End design. Experience in schematic, layout, and hardware design. Lab skills and debugging expertise, including RF testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with RF focus. Experience in the design of software-defined radios (SDRs). Schematic, layout, and hardware design experience using Altium. Work Environment The position involves working in an office and lab environment.
