Direct Hire Job Description Under the direction of the R D leadership team, staff members in this position will design, test, and troubleshoot analog electronic and/or photonic hardware in support of externally and internally funded research and development programs, as well as the development of new commercial products. The role also includes documentation, customer-facing presentation support, report and proposal writing, product improvement activities, and laboratory organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design analog electronic and/or photonic hardware to support research and development programs and new commercial product development Iterate and troubleshoot hardware designs Perform tests and measurements on analog electronic and/or photonic components, modules, and systems Generate and maintain organized documentation of design configurations and associated measured data Prepare presentation materials and participate in meetings and performance reviews with customers Compose written material for reports and proposals Assist with product improvement activities and new product introduction Maintain and organize R D and product development laboratories Qualifications U.S. citizenship required Bachelor of Science degree with at least three years of experience in photonic testing, assembly, and evaluation, or Associate of Science degree with at least eight years of such experience Understanding of active and passive electronic and/or photonic component performance models Experience with basic computer modeling software, such as MATLAB, and computer-aided design software packages Experience with analog network analyzers, electronic spectrum analyzers, noise analyzers, optical spectrum analyzers, and/or related equipment Ability to design for manufacturability Ability to work independently with little supervision Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, prioritize workload, and work under firm, quick-turnaround deadlines Experience with both electronic and photonic devices and systems preferred Current or past DoD security clearance preferred
