JOB•6066 Principal Product Engineer•RF/Microwave Semiconductors Location Greater Boston, MA On-site | Monday-Friday About the Company A well-established semiconductor manufacturer with a strong history in RF, microwave, and high-frequency product development is seeking a Principal Product Engineer to join its New Product Development Engineering team. The company supports advanced applications across communications, Satcom, aerospace, defense, test and measurement, and industrial markets. This role is open due to retirement and offers the opportunity to take ownership of new RF/microwave semiconductor products from design handoff through full production release. Position Overview The Principal Product Engineer will be responsible for supporting the release of RF and microwave semiconductor products into mass production. This individual will work closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications, Marketing, Reliability Engineering, and internal/offshore test facilities to ensure successful new product introduction. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in RF/microwave testing, semiconductor device characterization, statistical data analysis, test planning, yield analysis, and production release. Key Responsibilities Generate production test plans to verify RF/microwave product performance Create and maintain product datasheets and establish test limits Design, analyze, and debug RF/microwave test boards and fixtures for automated test equipment Set up and perform small-signal and high-signal RF measurements in engineering and production environments Conduct measurement systems analysis, including gauge R&R Analyze product and test data using sound statistical methodology Perform yield analysis and lead project team meetings to review findings Support successful new product introduction and ensure production release timelines are met Ensure all manufacturing requirements are in place, including hardware, documentation, BOMs, costing, and production readiness Collaborate with internal engineering teams, offshore test facilities, subcontractors, vendors, and customers as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred 5+ years of relevant experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications Engineering, or similar semiconductor-related role Strong RF/microwave test and measurement experience Experience with semiconductor device characterization Ability to analyze large volumes of data and apply statistical methods to set specifications, test limits, and datasheet parameters Experience supporting new product introduction or product release into manufacturing Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to cross-functional teams Ability to work effectively with engineering teams across multiple locations Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with RF/microwave or hybrid products such as PIN diodes, attenuators, switches, limiters, modules, or similar devices Experience designing or debugging RF test boards, test fixtures, or automated test equipment setups Experience working with internal and offshore test facilities Familiarity with Satcom, aerospace, defense, communications, or test and measurement applications Security clearance is a plus Compliance Requirements Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR requirements U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, individuals granted asylum, or individuals granted refugee status may be considered Background check required due to defense-related manufacturing requirements Reference checks required Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with RF/microwave products and semiconductor devices, with the ability to bridge engineering, testing, characterization, and production release.
