Job Description

Job Description Role Overview Insight Global's client is seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to design, debug, and integrate RF systems for highly autonomous consumer products. This role is heavily hands-on, with a strong emphasis on RF PCB design, hardware system integration, and lab-based debugging, ideally within the cell phone or comparable high-volume consumer electronics industry. Key Responsibilities Design and develop RF PCBs and hardware systems across multiple wireless technologies and frequency bands Perform RF circuit design (not layout-only) including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits Conduct lab bench work including debugging, desense analysis, and system characterization Own RF design through the full product lifecycle: concept, validation, certification, and manufacturing Identify and mitigate noise, EMI/EMC, and coupling issues at both PCB and system levels Collaborate closely with EE, RF, antenna, and product development teams Support manufacturing processes, bring-up, and production testing We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Required Experience & Skills 5-8 years of relevant RF engineering experience (strong preference for mobile phone or similar consumer electronics) Deep understanding of RF fundamentals, including: Impedance matching RF PCB design and routing EMI/EMC mitigation Radiated noise coupling mechanisms Hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth, and GPS Proficiency with RF simulation tools (Keysight ADS, Momentum, HFSS/Ansys) Experience using RF lab equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, CMW500, near-field probes, etc.) Strong debugging skills for RF performance, desense, and system integration issues Education MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) Work Environment Onsite in San Mateo, CA, 5 days/week Limited remote flexibility for personal circumstances only Nice-to-Have TRP, TIS, and Rate vs. Range testing experience Prior experience supporting high-volume manufacturing FAA Part 107 certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
