We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented RF Design Engineer with deep expertise in the Atoll radio planning platform. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end RF design, simulation, and optimization of our next-generation wireless networks ( 4G LTE and 5G NR ). You will collaborate closely with deployment, site acquisition, and optimization teams to build high-performance network coverage, expand capacity, and eliminate interference.
Key Responsibilities RF Planning & Simulation:
Utilize Atoll to create accurate radio propagation models, coverage heatmaps, and capacity simulations for macro and small cell deployments.
Network Design:
Generate physical cell ID (PCI) configurations, neighbor lists, and frequency plans while maintaining minimal interference footprint.
Documentation & RFDS:
Create and deliver comprehensive RF Design Sheets (RFDS) and CIQ templates detailing antenna models, azimuths, mechanical/electrical downtilts, and power settings.
Model Tuning:
Import and analyze drive-test data using post-processing tools to continuously tune and validate Atoll propagation models against real-world terrain and clutter.
Site Evaluation:
Assess new site candidates, perform structural/height analysis, and collaborate with site acquisition and civil engineering teams to ensure optimal candidate selection.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications , or a closely related technical field.
Technical Expertise:
Minimum 3-5 years of active experience in RF Design , with power-user proficiency in Atoll (including its multi-RAT, propagation, and automatic cell planning modules).
Wireless Standards:
Deep knowledge of 5G NR and LTE air interfaces, link budget variables, and network architectures.
Software Tools:
Proficiency with GIS applications (e.g., Google Earth Pro, MapInfo), database management, and RF post-processing suites (e.g., Actix, TEMS, Nemo).
Communication:
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical RF constraints to non-technical project stakeholders.
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
