Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal RF Electrical Engineer . This position is located in Clearfield, UT and supports the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) program. What you'll get to do: The RF Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining RF systems, antennas, and communication equipment to support the government mission and operations. This role involves applying RF engineering principles to design and develop new systems, modify existing systems, and troubleshoot and resolve RF issues, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards. The RF Engineer will perform RF analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF systems with other disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and software engineering. Additionally, the RF Engineer will develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test plans, and will provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. Proficiency in RF design tools, experience with RF systems and equipment, and a strong understanding of RF engineering principles, including antenna design, propagation modeling, and frequency planning, are essential for success in this role.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3 years' experience; PhD with 1 year experience. Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance. Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory as it relates to communication Experience with RF hardware testing, design, and analysis using computer aided design (CAD) Experience in full lifecycle of RF system development and deployment - design, test, production phases Proven technical writing capability and experience communicating technical and programmatic data in presentations, reviews, papers, etc. Experience and knowledge with using and reading engineering drawings Software and/or Hardware testing experience Experience presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:

Primary Level Salary Range:
$98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
