Role and Scope of Position:
This position is responsible for all engineering, compliance, quality management, regulatory policy, emergency preparedness and records management activities throughout Eversource. This position oversees and directs all engineering and compliance activities required for reliable and safe delivery of natural gas. This position is also responsible for developing the annual capital budget plan and programs that ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing Gas Operations. Develops and monitors key performance indicators for the Gas Operations sub-processes in collaboration with field managers. This position takes the lead in managing all gas related regulatory inquiries and is required to effectively manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all engineering activities of gas distribution including but not limited to interpretation of state and federal codes, development of operating and maintenance procedures, construction, material, and tool and equipment standards and design of facilities for construction by field operations. Performs the lead role in the planning and management of major engineering and construction projects including transmission, distribution, and other complex gas distribution facilities such as gate and regulator stations, bridge and railroad crossings, etc. Develops system infrastructure strategy, operating philosophy and technical basis for growth and renewal decisions that include economic life determination and associated risk profiles. Directs engineering necessary to meet the growing demand for natural gas and to assure the safety and reliability of the system. Oversees, manages, and tracks all compliance obligations of the business ensuring all state and federal obligations are achieved. Develops control systems for compliance and configuration management policies and programs. Responsible for all quality management policy and programs. Develops and implements programs that audit field maintenance and construction activities to ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Responsible for the business' GIS system and ensuring that records management policies and programs are in place and adhered to for compliance with integrity management programs. Responsible for the development of the businesses emergency preparedness policies, procedures, training, and drilling consistent with Eversource's All Hazards Response Plan. Collaborates with Senior Management to develop and implement company-wide programs such as strategic plans, corporate performance goals, budgets and IT strategy and projects for Gas Operations. Ensures organization conforms to safe work practices.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Requires extensive knowledge of Gas Operations methods, procedures, systems and facilities, and state and federal pipeline regulations. Requires strong organizational and managerial skills. Ability to manage operating budgets, operating plans and works cross functionally. Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and performance improvement efforts.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline. Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of twelve (12) years gas distribution, utility or technical experience

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. Must be available to travel between
MA/CT/NH
as necessary. This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
