Job Description

Engineer II, Natural Gas RK&K parental leave, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) United States, Pennsylvania, Williamsport Mar 24, 2026 RK&K is seeking an Engineer II to join our Energy & Corrosion team in our Williamsport, Pennsylvania Office. This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer ready to take the next step and expand technical, design, and project coordination capabilities. In this position, you will contribute to a wide variety of energy and corrosion-related projects, including engineering design, construction document preparation, project coordination, construction support, and operations support. You will engage directly in solving complex engineering problems, performing technical evaluations, and assessing alternative solutions. Some local travel is required. Essential Functions As an Engineer II, you will: Produce accurate, high-quality, and constructible engineering drawings and deliverables.
Prepare specifications, review submittals, assist with project documentation, and engage in communication with clients and stakeholders.
Support the development of multi-discipline drawing sets under Responsible Charge oversight.
Promote and assist with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to improve deliverables and reduce design errors or omissions.
Research and interpret regulatory requirements and client standards applicable to assigned projects.
Support project managers with engineering calculations, analysis, specification reviews, and cost estimates for design and proposal efforts.
Participate in internal and external project meetings, presentations, and plan approvals.
Collaborate directly with clients, project managers, designers, and contractors while expanding technical and professional skills. Required Skills and Experience 2+ years of engineering experience within the natural gas or energy sector
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Experience in pipeline alignment sheets and well pad layout/grading
Experience preparing and submitting Pennsylvania Erosion and Sediment Control General Permits (ESCGP-4)
Experience with preparing erosion and sedimentation (E&S) control and stormwater management designs including preparing and submitting applications for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks
Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Preferred Skills and Experience 4+ years of engineering experience within the natural gas or energy sector
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (Pennsylvania preferred)
Experience with natural gas distribution and/or transmission design
Knowledge of CFR Part 192 regulatory requirements
Familiarity with conventional construction methods and trenchless technologies
Experience in supporting the design of natural gas facilities including district regulator stations, gate stations, inline inspection facilities (layout)
