Under the direction of the WellSTAR Senior Oil and Gas Engineer, the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer (AOGE) will be responsible for leading the functional changes and project development of the Well Statewide Tracking and Reporting (WellSTAR) project for the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM). The position will be responsible for providing technical review and assessment of the impact of WellSTAR functional design changes. The incumbent will ensure WellSTAR design updates and improvements are in compliance with state oil and gas mandates. The incumbent will perform assignments requiring a high degree of knowledge and skill in hydrocarbon technology, complex engineering work, extensive communication, data management, and presentation. Instruction and trainings may require travel to CalGEM District offices.

Working Conditions This position is located in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with employees required to work in-person at 715 P Street, MS 1803, Sacramento, CA 95814. At least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position. Alternative work locations will not be considered.
