Their power systems are used in aerospace, marine, energy and off-highway applications. In the United States, our client employs over 6,000 people, with significant operations in 27 states. In Canada, they employ over 1,000 people across six provinces. Currently, they are looking to add a Lifecyle Engineer (Gas Turbines) to their team in Indianapolis, IN.

•This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Our client will require proof of status prior to employment.

Hard Requirements:

At least 2 years' experience in gas turbine engineering support What they are, how they function Lifecycle engineering skills: root cause analysis, technical writing, failure investigations Tech manual writing, how to look for information Need to be able to learn a lot very quickly to be successful in this role Preferred Skills/Experience Controls experience is very helpful, but material/mechanics side is more important Understanding of data analysis - look at recorded data and infer operations within that data set To provide world-class technical support for in-service/delivered products and to influence maturity throughout the product life cycle to meet customer and business needs, ensuring Design Intent is met. To ensure the safe, reliable and cost effective product attributes are defined and maintained by means of through life modelling of product reliability, deterioration mechanisms, costs and help implement robust & cost effective solutions. Key Accountabilities Management of known and potential safety issues (SAR & RT) and appropriate involvement in safety boards as defined in Safety Management Plan. Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings Lead Investigation of operational issues to establish root cause Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions Provide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectation. Develop the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development. Set reliability targets (such operational disruption metrics) based on historical data and monitor performance against targets. Predict future safety and reliability performance based on failure rates, adopting statistical techniques to support Numerical Risk Assessment, Parametric Distribution and fly forward analysis. Identify cost reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life cycle engineering policies and any associated maintenance planning documentation. Manage any issues that affect the Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent. Provide lifecycle technical data (build/in-service/decommissioning) and model/support modelling of through life performance, deterioration mechanisms and service attributes to create and maintain time on platform prediction, identify opportunities for optimization and support the generation of the Service Operation Validation Strategy. Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder. Lead and integrate Health Monitoring system requirements. Identify requirements for new Health Monitoring System or capability. Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities. Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programs and product design teams Ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements, including but not limited to returning service run components back to serviceable condition Analyze product service deterioration, gathering insights from maintenance and repair facilities to inform the product maturity strategy and identify lifecycle cost optimization opportunities Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Knowledge of components/ systems functionality and numerical methods Experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous Familiarity of the in service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution Experience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partners Full-time contract employees are eligible for the following benefits: Dental Vision Health 401K Holiday Pay Weekly Pay We thank all candidates for their application, however only those that qualify will be contacted.
