This contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on engineer who excels in robotics, motion control, machine vision, physical AI, and system prototyping within a fast-paced R D environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience integrating robotic systems, developing prototype solutions, utilizing machine vision for calibration and robot guidance, and solving complex automation challenges. Position Overview As a Robotics Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the development of next-generation automation and robotic technologies by applying advanced engineering principles to complex research and development projects. You will work within an agile, cross-functional engineering team, taking concepts from ideation through prototyping, testing, validation, and optimization. This role requires a creative and independent engineer who can make sound technical decisions while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, prototype, and validate robotic and automation systems. Generate innovative concepts and transform them into functional solutions. Integrate robotics, motion control, machine vision, and sensing technologies into complex systems. Develop and test prototype hardware and software to achieve project objectives. Conduct simulations, experiments, and performance analyses to validate engineering hypotheses. Support process automation and systems integration initiatives. Participate in the development of new products, processes, and system components. Contribute to potentially patentable innovations and technical solutions. Iterate designs based on test results, user feedback, and engineering evaluations. Present technical findings, project updates, and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders. Collaborate with agile, cross-functional project teams on planning and execution activities. Exercise independent technical judgment while working toward broadly defined goals. Required QualificationsEducation & Experience One of the following is required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field plus 8+ years of relevant experience Master's degree in a related discipline plus 4+ years of relevant experience PhD in a related discipline plus 2+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Degree:
Robotics Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Automation Engineering or related discipline Required Technical Skills Expert knowledge of robotics, mechatronics, motion control systems, sensing technologies, and coordinate systems Hands-on experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting robotic and automation systems Experience with mechanical, electrical, and software prototyping Strong knowledge of motion control technologies including: Servo motors Stepper motors Encoders Feedback control systems Experience with robot programming and simulation software, preferably ABB RobotStudio Experience using machine vision for object detection, robot guidance, calibration, or inspection applications Knowledge of electronic and industrial control systems, including: PID control PLC systems Industrial automation controls Experience with industrial communication protocols such as: Ether

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotic calibration using machine vision , including fiducials, ArUCO tags, AprilTags, or similar technologies Experience with CAD design software, preferably SolidWorks Familiarity with industrial networking technologies including: TCP/IP Network switches Routers Fortinet environments Experience supporting diagnostic, laboratory automation, pathology, or life sciences applications Background in robotics research, advanced automation, physical AI, or intelligent systems Why Apply?
