PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Overview:
The Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology teacher will provide high-quality, hands-on instruction, motivation, and mentoring to students in grades 9-12 as they master the occupational skills identified in the DESE Chapter 74 framework for the program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Chapter 74 program framework Provide hands-on, project-based learning experiences to students Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials (IRCs) of value to employers Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials Manage classroom operations, equipment, and technology resources Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and industry partners Participate in professional development opportunities
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a preliminary or professional Massachusetts Technical Teacher License to teach the Chapter 74 program or be eligible to be granted a waiver while completing the licensure requirements as listed below:
Education:
Associate degree with 18 credits related to the subject matter/framework
Work Experience:
4 years related to the subject matter/framework (bachelor's degree requires 3 years and master's degree 2 years of work experience)
Industry Credentials:
None required Passing scores on DESE subject matter written and performance tests Passing score on either the DESE MTEL or VTEL literacy tests
