Full Job Description Job Title:
Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer Job Description We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, and implement industrial control systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can work closely with customers to define requirements and deliver effective solutions. You will be responsible for programming and troubleshooting PLCs, developing HMI and SCADA applications, and supporting system integration, FATs, SATs, startup, and commissioning activities. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) Develop HMI and SCADA applications, including Ignition where applicable Support system integration, FATs, SATs, startup, and commissioning activities Work directly with customers to define requirements and deliver solutions Create technical documentation including functional specifications, IO lists, and test plans Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, technicians, and field teams Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols Ability to troubleshoot control systems in plant environments Strong communication and customer-facing skills Ability to travel for project work as needed Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, Ignition SCADA (particularly Ignition Certification), Siemens TIA Portal / WinCC, Wonderware / AVEVA, DCS platforms, and batch process automation MES integration and data center commissioning Electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical Power monitoring and critical infrastructure systems Experience with industrial cybersecurity principles and secure network architectures Familiarity with MES, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 initiatives Experience integrating third-party equipment, robotics, vision systems, and automated production equipment Work Environment The position requires 50% travel and operates on a 10 on 4 off schedule. You will work in diverse environments, engaging with advanced industrial technologies and systems. This role involves collaboration with various teams and clients, requiring strong communication and technical skills. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00- $175000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
