Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Review requirements and develop/analyze technical concepts for new projects Plan and detailed design of machines, tooling and custom sub-systems Select and source off-the-shelf machine components where possible Work with teams of engineers and programmers on system architectures Contribute to cost estimation on projects Develop simulations and perform cycle time analysis on designs Utilize modern CAD and design tools (Solidworks is our primary CAD environment) Prepare detailed drawings and informed documentation for vendors and fabricators to follow Identify and select off-the-shelf components suitable for use Interface with customers on requirements and integration Oversee system testing, installation and commissioning Track progress against cost and time goals

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE DESIRED
Use of modern CAD tools and best practices Work in industrial or manufacturing environments Production or shop experience Familiarity with common machine components, robotic systems and controls Analysis of complex mechanical systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or demonstrated track record in machine design Hands-on experience in design-build-test of new equipment Experience in a relevant technical discipline 2+ years experience in industrial automation and machine design Strong CAD skills Willing to submit to a background check and drug test Valid drivers license Authorized to work in the U.S (qualify as a "US Person" per US Federal standards) Ability to travel (primarily within the US) on an periodic basis (between 5-10 wk/yr) Some accommodation for remote work, but regular in-office time is required
