Summary of Position:
The Director of Engineering-Logistics Automation & Material handling will manage a distributed, multi-regional team of mechanical and electrical designers. The Director of Engineering -Logistics Automation & Material Handling will ensure that the team drives solutions from initial concept to full on-site integration, building advanced conveyance, robotic work-cells, and purpose-built AMR solutions for fulfillment warehouses.
Essential Functions:
Distributed Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and scale a multi-office, multi-regional team of mechanical and electrical designers, including but not limited to hiring, all phases of performance management, and terminations Concept to
Integration:
Oversee entire product lifecycles from blank-page concepts to full site deployment
Process & Quality Compliance:
Enforce team compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) procedures
Design Optimization:
Accelerate engineering design time-to-value while maintaining rigorous quality standards
Technical Strategy:
Define the architectural roadmap for complex warehouse automation ecosystems
Advanced Engineering:
Drive design of high-speed conveyor systems and robotic work-cells
Mobile Automation:
Guide development and integration of custom fleet AMR solutions
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with software, product, sales, and regional commissioning teams

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.
Physical Demands:
This role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The employee regularly engages in verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients to address project-related inquiries and must be able to convey accurate information clearly and efficiently. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources. Daily tasks include consistent use of computers and standard office technology such as keyboards, printers, and multifunction devices. The role also involves transporting equipment boxes weighing up to 25 pounds within the building and to other offsite locations as needed for project support.
Required Education and Experience:
Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering 7+ years of experience

Minimum 7+ years leading multidisciplinary teams across different offices and regions
Domain Expertise:
Proven track record in logistics and e-commerce fulfillment markets
Systems & Quality Tools:
Preferred knowledge of Arena PLM or equivalent enterprise QMS/PLM software platforms
Technical Knowledge:
Deep expertise in advanced conveyance and material handling
Robotics & Autonomy:
Direct experience integrating robotic work-cells and AMR solutions
Controls Familiarity:
Knowledge of PLC or IPC control frameworks and hardware integration
Systems Engineering:
Strong background in full-scale system integration and validation protocols
