Why You Matter As an Automated Weld Cell Technician, you play a key role in keeping our robotic welding operations running safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality. Your ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the Automated Weld Cell ensures welded components meet Lantech standards while minimizing downtime and supporting production goals. What You'll Do As an Automated Weld Cell Technician, you will: Learn and operate all current and future quadrants of the Automated Weld Cell (AWC) Load and unload parts into robotic welding fixtures, ensuring proper placement and alignment Inspect and prepare parts to verify proper weldment and surface finish prior to processing Load completed parts onto paint carts or finished work-in-process (WIP) racks Serve as the primary operator for recovering the robot from crashes or fault conditions Perform routine preventative maintenance on the Automated Weld Cell Partner with the Robotics Engineer to troubleshoot equipment shutdowns and improve system performance Inspect and clean fixtures between production cycles to ensure proper fit and weld quality Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, and production concerns to the Team Leader Follow standardized work instructions and all safety and quality procedures Train and certify to safely operate an overhead crane Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain a clean, organized work area What We're Looking For Minimum of 2 years of robotic equipment operation experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 1 year of welding experience Manufacturing or machine operation experience Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality Ability to stand for extended periods (approximately 9.5 hours per shift) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity to safely handle parts and equipment Team-oriented with strong communication skills Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules Willingness to attend technical training related to the position Ability to become certified to operate an overhead crane Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record Desired Experience Vocational or trade school training in welding, robotics, manufacturing, or a related field Experience troubleshooting robotic welding equipment Experience performing preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment Continuous improvement mindset with strong organizational skills Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Vocational or trade school training preferred Why You'll Love Working at Lantech We believe great work happens when people feel supported, challenged, and valued.
