Job Description

Job Overview Modern Molding, Inc. is looking for an Engineering Technician to collaborate with our automation and production teams in the implementation, programming, and troubleshooting of custom robotic and automation systems used in our plastic injection molding and assembly processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Program and troubleshoot end-of-arm tooling for 3-axis Sepro robotic systems. Implement custom automation solutions to improve productivity, including SCARA and 3-axis robotic systems, assembly fixtures, and devices with electro-mechanical and pneumatic components. Provide technical support and expertise in electro-mechanical systems, including robotic cells, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, electrical control panels, and other automation components.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a 2-year degree in Engineering or a related Automation field, with working knowledge of SolidWorks modeling software. The candidate should be self-motivated, possess strong critical thinking skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Knowledge and experience with plastic injection molding is a plus.
Robotics Programming & Debugging:
Proficient in programming and debugging robotic systems using various programming languages.
Electrical & Electronics Expertise:
Ability to safely work with control voltage and low-power electronics; experience with electronic circuitry, mechanical assembly, and hydraulics.
Problem-Solving:
Strong creative problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
Mechanical Design & Fabrication:
Skilled in designing and building custom components for fixturing; mechanically inclined with hands-on experience in fabrication and assembly.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize robotic operations and improve productivity.
Sensor & Vision Systems Knowledge:
Familiarity with Cognex and Keyence sensors; experience with robotic vision systems is a plus.
Independent & Team Work:
Able to work effectively both independently and in small team settings. Attention to

Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Documentation & Reporting:
Strong ability to document changes and improvements made to robotic systems and processes.
