Automation / Operations Manager Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on AMR Technician / Robotics Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems in a warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with AMR, AGV, robotics, automation, material handling equipment, electrical/mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance . This position will play a critical role in maintaining AMR system availability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and reliable warehouse operations. Key ResponsibilitiesAMR Operations & Monitoring Monitor daily AMR fleet operations and system performance. Monitor robot status, missions, alarms, battery levels, and system availability. Perform daily AMR startup/shutdown and operational readiness checks. Identify abnormal robot behavior and operational issues. Support AMR fleet optimization and productivity improvement. Troubleshooting & Maintenance Perform first-level troubleshooting of AMR hardware and software issues. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, sensor, communication, and navigation-related issues. Troubleshoot sensors, motors, batteries, charging systems, controllers, and safety devices. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance. Replace defective components and perform minor repairs. Escalate complex issues to engineering, OEM, or technical support teams when required. System Deployment & Support Support AMR installation, commissioning, testing, and go-live activities. Assist with robot mapping, navigation setup, charging stations, and workstations. Support system acceptance testing and operational validation. Assist with software configuration and fleet-management-system setup. Support system stabilization following deployment or major software/hardware updates. Warehouse & Automation Support Work closely with warehouse operations to minimize AMR downtime and operational disruption. Support integration between AMRs and other automation systems such as conveyors, WMS/WES/WCS, scanners, and warehouse equipment. Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on productivity, reliability, and safety. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of equipment failures, repairs, downtime, and maintenance activities. Track AMR performance and recurring technical issues. Prepare daily/weekly maintenance and operational reports. Maintain spare-parts and equipment records. Support KPI and reliability reporting. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:AMR / AGV
Robotics Industrial Automation Material Handling Equipment Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Warehouse Automation Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Basic understanding of sensors, motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems. Basic computer and networking troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose hardware and software-related issues. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Ability to work in a warehouse/industrial environment. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with AMR/AGV systems . Experience with AMR fleet-management software. Experience with autonomous navigation, LiDAR, cameras, safety scanners, or other robotic sensors. Basic knowledge of PLCs, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, or industrial networking. Experience with WMS, WES, or WCS systems. Experience with conveyors or automated material handling systems. Experience with Linux or command-line tools. Technical degree or certification in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or Industrial Maintenance. Experience working with OEM robotics or automation vendors. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a warehouse/industrial environment. Ability to lift and carry equipment or parts up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work around automated equipment. Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or extended hours when operationally required. Work Environment This is a hands-on, on-site position in a warehouse automation environment. The technician will work around AMRs, conveyors, charging systems, warehouse equipment, electrical panels, sensors, and other automated systems . Safety is a critical component of this position. The successful candidate must follow all company safety procedures, including applicable LOTO and OSHA requirements .
