Gas Leak Survey Technicians are responsible for surveying pipelines and identifying the origin and severity of the leaks detected. As a Leak Survey Technician for AGD, you will inspect, locate, and evaluate gas leaks and document findings accurately for submission to the gas company. No experience is required, and we provide training. Responsibilities & Skills required for the position:- Accurately detect and classify gas leaks during inspections
- Document Abnormal operating conditions
- Patrolling pipelines
- Above ground leak repair by tightening
- Leak investigation
- Atmospheric corrosion inspection of above ground structures
- Work efficiently and manage time properly with little supervision
- Be highly self-motivated
- Ability to walk/ stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to walk several miles per day in all types of weather
- Bending, crouching, and kneeling will be necessary
- Must be able to carry and lift 5-10 lbs of survey equipment
- Complete work in an efficient manner and meet all required completion dates
- Follow company guidelines in the employee manual
- Adhere to safety procedures as stated in the safety manual
- Keep lines of communication open with managers
- Leak Survey Technicians may need to learn other related tasks that are not listed above.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and registered and insured vehicle (proof of insurance required)
- Reliable vehicle that meets company requirements
- DOT pre-employment and random drug screening required
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Understand maps and directions
