Greater Chicagoland Parvin-Clauss Sign Company, a fast-growing, family-owned business in Carol Stream, Illinois, is seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician/Surveyor to join our installation team. If you're ready to take the next step in your career, this is your opportunity to lead, train, and mentor a team while applying your technical knowledge and field experience. Sign Service & Repair Perform service calls on illuminated and non-illuminated signs. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, lighting, and structural sign issues. Replace LED modules, power supplies, lamps, ballasts, and other sign components. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs. Complete service documentation and provide detailed reports. Site Surveys Conduct site surveys for new and existing signage projects. Take accurate measurements and photographs. Verify field conditions, utility locations, mounting surfaces, and access requirements. Identify potential manufacturing and installation challenges and provide recommendations. Communicate survey findings to project managers, designers, and estimators. Project Checkouts & Quality Verification Verify completed installations meet project specifications and customer expectations. Conduct final project inspections and punch-list reviews. Ensure signage is functioning properly and installed safely. Document completion photos and field reports. Meet with municipal inspectors for open-hole, electrical, and final inspections. Additional Responsibilities Operate company vehicles safely and professionally. Follow OSHA and company safety procedures. Assist installation crews as needed. Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, property managers, and coworkers. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles. Support project teams by providing field expertise and technical recommendations. Qualifications Experience in the sign industry, electrical service, construction, maintenance, or related field preferred. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site plans. Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Comfortable working at heights and using ladders, lifts, and fall protection equipment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications Two or more years of sign industry, installation, or service experience.
