Job Description
We are seeking a Survey Instrument Operator / Land Survey Technician to support a variety of land surveying projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable with technology and mathematics, and takes pride in accurate, precise fieldwork.
Prior surveying experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
What You'll Be DoingWorking alongside a Survey Crew Chief and, at times, independently, you will support a variety of surveying projects, including:
Monument reconnaissanceBoundary surveys
Perform essential field tasks supporting daily survey crew operationsCollect accurate, high-quality field dataPrepare clear field notes and sketchesOperate and maintain survey equipment and vehiclesFollow field safety procedures and maintain professional standardsCollaborate with office staff to support efficient project completionEquipment & Technical ExperienceAptitude and willingness to learn surveying techniques and technologyPrevious experience operating survey equipment is a strong plusAbility to learn and properly use field surveying instruments and related technologyQualificationsValid driver's licenseAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong attention to detail and accuracySafety-conscious approach to fieldworkWillingness to travel overnight occasionally is a plusStrong work ethic and dependable attendanceCompensation & Benefits401(k) with profit-sharing and bonus opportunitiesHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLong- and short-term disability insuranceLife insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)Paid time offProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursement
