You will perform both field and office land surveying work on a wide range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Our ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in land surveying, which must include drafting and production of survey plans. This is a year-round position that will include all aspects of survey work, including the following: drafting, deed research; utility research; conventional and GPS data processing; and data analysis. Outdoor work in all seasons will be required, including surveying in rugged terrain and wooded areas. You must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. We would love it if you have effective communication skills and a track record of detail-oriented plan production.
Your office responsibilities may include:
- Analyze and adjust survey field data with AutoCAD and Carlson Survey software
- Research land records and municipal records
- Prepare base plans including: Boundary & Topographic Surveys, As-Built Surveys, and
ALTA/ACSM
Land Title Surveys- Prepare instructions and field sheets for the survey field crew
- Generate 3D surfaces and perform least squares analyses.
Your field responsibilities may include:
- Perform boundary line, topographic, construction stakeout, and utility surveys
- Operate and maintain Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS units, and other equipment
- Document all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection
- Use hand tools to install stakes and markers, dig to expose survey monuments, and to traverse difficult terrain Our ideal candidate is pursuing licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor and will be energized by working on a wide variety of tasks and engaging with the other members of our team.
