  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Survey Drafting Technician II/Sr.
to join our dynamic surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise survey drawings, schematics, and land development plans that support civil engineering projects. Your expertise in land surveying, drafting, and data collection will ensure accurate representations of terrain, utilities, and infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, contributing to impactful projects that shape communities and infrastructure. Duties Prepare detailed survey drawings, schematics, and plans using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D , Revit, MicroStation, and Carlson. Civil 3D is a MUST. Collect field data through GPS devices, 3D scanners, hand tools, and other survey equipment to ensure accurate mapping of land features and utilities. Perform utility locating to identify underground infrastructure and incorporate this information into project plans. Use GIS software like ArcGIS to analyze spatial data and generate comprehensive maps for project planning and execution. Assist in land surveying activities including boundary determination, topographic surveys, and construction staking. Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and project specifications. Maintain meticulous records of data collection efforts, survey notes, and drafting revisions for quality assurance. Requirements Proven experience in land surveying techniques combined with drafting skills using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D , Revit or MicroStation. Civil 3D is a MUST. Strong understanding of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles essential for precise measurements and calculations. Prepare and finalize Survey Maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D Draft Boundary Surveys, Subdivision plans, Topographic Maps and Alta Surveys Familiarity with utility locating methods and equipment; experience with GPS technology is highly preferred. Knowledge of 3D scanning technology for capturing detailed terrain models. Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings related to civil engineering projects. Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) for spatial data analysis and mapping purposes. Excellent data analysis skills to review survey results and ensure accuracy in drafting outputs. Strong communication skills for collaborating with project teams and documenting survey activities clearly.
