Survey Technician / Construction Technology Specialist Heavy Civil Construction | Northeast Ohio A well-established and growing 50+ year Heavy Civil Contractor in the Cleveland/Akron area is looking to add a Survey Technician / Construction Technology Specialist to support continued growth and investment in technology across the organization. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of surveying, GPS technology, machine control, and construction operations. The right individual will play a critical role in helping project teams, survey crews, and machine operators execute work accurately and efficiently in the field. What You'll Be Doing Develop, manage, and maintain GPS machine control models and files for field operations Convert engineering and design drawings into machine-ready GPS files for heavy equipment and survey crews Work closely with project managers, survey personnel, estimators, and field teams to ensure accurate project layout and grading information Support and troubleshoot GPS machine control systems in the field Assist with setup, calibration, and operation of GPS equipment and survey technology Review plans, specifications, and design files to ensure constructability and data accuracy Help drive technology initiatives that improve productivity and efficiency across projects Preferred Experience Experience with GPS machine control systems Working knowledge of Topcon, Trimble, or similar GPS technologies Experience creating and managing machine control models Strong understanding of grading, earthwork, site development, utilities, and heavy civil construction Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Topcon MAGNET, or related software Understanding of survey layout, elevations, coordinate systems, and construction staking Ability to communicate effectively with both office and field personnel What Makes This Opportunity Different?
