This position supports both field and office operations — preparing CAD drawings, processing LiDAR and hydrography data, and managing GIS-based information. We understand this role requires a broad skill set, and we don't expect every candidate to check every box. If you bring related experience and a drive to learn, we'll help you develop the rest. What You'll Do
- Create land survey CAD drawings for boundary, topographic, and construction projects.
- Prepare field work drawings and client exhibits for reports and presentations.
- Process LiDAR and hydrography data sets, including classification, filtering, surface modeling, and drafting.
- Work with GIS databases and drawings to integrate surveys and mapping data.
- Apply and manage coordinate systems and geometric datums (NAD83, NAVD88, LDP, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with field crews and project managers.
- Keep project files well-organized, documented, and up to date.
Preferred Skills We're looking for someone who has most of these skills — and a willingness to learn the rest: Preferred Experience Related / Transferable Experience That Works Too Carlson Survey, Civil 3D, or similar CAD platforms, or similar software AutoCAD, MicroStation, or IntelliCAD drafting background LiDAR and hydrographic data processing or similar software Point-cloud work in Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone, Recap, or drone photogrammetry software GIS integration and geospatial databases Global Mapper, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or CAD-to-GIS workflows Understanding of coordinate systems and datums
GPS/GNSS
data collection, georeferencing, or mapping experience Construction or ADA ramp staking familiarity Civil design or construction layout background Bluebeam Revu/Acrobat or plan-set markup software Experience reviewing or redlining drawings in any PDF platform Strong organizational and documentation skills Project coordination or data-management experience in a technical setting Who You Are
